On 15 November 2025 I got on stage at Sword AI Summit in Porto. The talk was called Real AI Workflows for Software Engineers.

It was one of the coolest things I have done.

I’m a software engineer in Berlin. Most days I build energy and clean-tech systems. Getting up in a room of people who actually build AI, and talking about how I use it at work, was uncomfortable. Good uncomfortable. I was tired of only watching this stuff from a browser tab.

The day was a lot. The venue, the talks, chatting in the hallways. Being there instead of catching the recording later. I learned a bunch, and I left wanting to do it again.

I also got restless about something I’d been putting off.

I’ve had drafts sitting around for years. Notes, half-finished guides, workflows I keep explaining to friends over coffee. Publishing always felt like a personal-brand thing other people did. A bit much for me. After that stage I changed my mind. If I want to keep talking about this, I need somewhere to put it. A company blog isn’t it, and neither is a LinkedIn post that dies in two days. Just a site that’s mine.

So this is it.

Views here are my own. Nothing I write is on behalf of my employer or anyone I work with.

This is for how I actually use AI as a software engineer, energy stuff, the homelab, side projects, and notes I wish I’d written down the first time. Some posts will be more put together than others.

I want to get better at writing and at showing up. This is me starting.

Hello world.
